Sarah's work is informed by natural and manmade objects found around the Sefton coastline. Clay and metal are shaped, textured and coloured, inspired by and using her finds, bringing to mind a sense of place, of the coast and of the elements. Using a range of stoneware clays, each piece is coiled, textured and altered. Once fired, oxides and glazes are layered in an abstract way giving each piece depth and movement. Copper, brass and aluminium additions are made for each piece which combine to give a sense of atmosphere and tell a story.
